Using gel or wax generally makes the hair look shiny and too forced, whereas using pomade and "lighter" things usually don't hold my hair in place for more than a couple of hours and it ends up falling over my eyes...

OK get it layered and get some hair glue by red ken it works and hold 4 a long long time now remember u only use a pea size amount stylist here 20 yrs

use hair glue. it comes in a yellow tube and works great, and its not shiny!

Get Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texturing Paste. It's not shiny and doesn't even feel like you have it in your hair, has a great hold and has no scent. Hope this helps!
