i have course curly/wavy hair and i'm looking for a gel or mousse that can make my curls more defined, shiny and frizz-free. what kind of gel or mousse do you use? preferably a mousse, cuz it's lighter, but i need something that'll look fine when i leave my house, but when i get back i have an afro.

Paul Mitchell makes a good mousse, and also has a smoothing line called Super Skinny that works really well.
