How can I keep my hair flat, and stop it from curling like mad?

Info: Male, Dirty Blonde, Curly Hair

Hey, I usually go for short hair, but i've chosen to go for "longish" hair this time. My hair isnt very long, but its thick and quite curly, its such a nuisance. One of my major problems is that when I wash my hair, it goes totally frizzy, and takes days of wearing a beanie / Sun Silk Anti-Waves and Curls cream to keep it KIND of flat.

My sisters have tried straightening my hair, but it just goes really thick and stands up straight, so thats out the window, ive also tried blow drying my hair, but to the same effect.

The only time my hair looks good is when its wet from just getting out the shower, i've tryed "Wet Effect Gel" but this just makes my hair curly.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Should I invest in one of them "wet to straight" irons or a "flat iron" ?

Anything goes at the moment, I don't want to go back to number 1 top and sides!

I really would just like to keep my hair how it is when its wet :(

Thanks,

Billy.

you could streighten it, but get a special hair streightner gel that you put on first. You can find it at your local buety store :]]

no offense but i think males look better with shorter hair but like it's up to you...i would go with a hair straightner it's not permanent but it like doesn't curl until you get it wet or something...

Go to the hairdressers and purchase some straightening serum whilst silicone based serum isn't the greatest for your hair i found it actually works really well, a ceramic plated straightener will generally do the job, make sure it has adjustable head when you get it, ask advice about different straighteners.

ok, heres a great solution: go to target and buy a wet to straight straightener. it works great!! and its only 25 bucks. just a word of advice: be really careful about the steam, i burnt myself once and it wasn't fun. or, you can get your hair professionally relaxed, but it doesn't stay for a long time. enjoy!!
