my mate always has his hair short cos his hair doesnt grow straight its immune to gel but he wants it longer and straight.
(he hasnt got enough hair to straigten it)

he could get it chemically relaxed. but he shouldn't do it until it's as long as he wants because otherwise he'd have to do it multiple times and it can get expensive.
