My hair is short but its long enough to spike with gel. I just want the ends colored...how do it do it? im a guy w/ black hair and frosting the tips brown like this color

If you're hair is long enough to spike, it's long enough for a cap!

But if you want color like the model in the picture.... I would try to find a stylist that's experienced with Balayage. They free-hand color with a brush and/or fingers to give it a natural look. I wouldn't try it your self though like you see on those box colors. If your hairs black, it's going to be needed to be double processed (bleached, then colored brown) so it's best to see a professional and she'll go over the best options for you.
