Hair stripping?

Does washing your hair with soap (fairy liquid, shower gel etc) really help get rid of dye in your hair? :/

It worked for my friend but just want to know if anyone has tried it out?

i dont think it would work, i went to florida and forgot my shampoo and had to use soap and it didnt do anything to my hair except make it clean, lol

if iter permanent dye - no, to get rid of permanent dye usually requires bleaching it out - this is called colour correction

however if its like a semi or temp dye, then try using a deep cleansing shampoo (.i.e. Paul Mitchell Shampoo 3) - these are designed to really clean the hair of any product build up, chlorine etc so they will help fade the dye.
