How do models get thicker hair?

My hair is thinning because of stress, not age (I'm 20). I wash my hair with Mane and Tail, but I don't think this is enough to make my hair thicker like models have. I know that they will sometimes use extensions and wigs, but, me being 20 years old and getting a small paycheck doesn't allow me to buy all sorts of products and fad try-its. For my job in the medical profession, I have to put my hair up for OSHA and infection control standards. I normally don't blow-dry my hair unless I really have to, and I only use gel or hairspray once or twice a week. I wash my hair every-other day (unless I'm sweating, which in case I will wash my hair.) I just need a few tips or trick to make me grow more hair/make my hair thicker. I'm sick of shedding all the damn time. Can someone help?

most models and anyone else in the spotlight have hair extensions. I wear them and that is the only solution I have found to give me the hair I want. I have very healthy hair, but it is super fine and slick. With my hair extensions I have full gorgeous Katherine McPhee hair ( she wears them , too ;). I've been wearing them for years.

Pulling the hair into a ponytail everyday puts stress on hair causing it to thin. Try wearing a braid or some other alternative to a ponytail.

yeah dont wear your hair in a ponytail, as it puts strain on the hair, and will cause it to thin out faster.

Some models dont have thick hair at all, so they use loads of extensions and wigs and stuff, like you said. You could look for a shampoo and conditioner that is for hair thickening. But some people have naturally thick hair, and some people have naturally thin hair.

I found on all these hair sites that most natural blondes have the thinnest hair, redheads have a bit more thicker hair, and brunettes have the thickest hair.

Extensions are a great way to have thicker hair.

Just people with thin hair should never get them, it's only worse for them.

Like Jessica Simpson has her own line of hair extensions.

That %26amp; they can afford expensive products.
