Hair Dry and Damaged by Texturizer. Please Help!?

After 5 years of growing my hair natural, I had finally gotten it past my shoulders for the first time in my life (because I always cornrowed and left it under a wig or in braids- it had gottten so tangly and nearly impossible to style any other way). My hair was already thin, thus 2 strand twists looked "anorexic" on my head, so wigs it was. then recently I started wearing ponytails with gel and tight wrapping- and the edges of my hair began to break off, also the crown of my head, because the curls were just too tight. Recently, I saw a girl in the gym with what looked to be texturized hair, I thought it looks like she can just wash %26amp; go and after went to Walmart %26amp; bought the Just for me texture softener. Well a week later my hair is sooooooooo dry %26amp; before it was breaking because of the super tangles I had, I over texturized it because now it's brittle, dry and very fragile. i have been dumping leave ins and things in my hair. What can I do to save it? Don't want to cut it all off.

Oh Lord. I have natural hair too and texturizers are just as bad as relaxers. Don't do that again.

But in response to your question, do a hot oil treatment every 2 weeks until your hair gets healthy again. Also, deep condition your hair everytime you wash it. If the ends are splitting, cut them off immediately to avoid further damage. Don't comb through your hair when it's dry it. Detangle it with a wide tooth comb while it's soaked in conditioner after you shampoo your hair. Continue to use your leave-in conditioners and you should see results really soon.

Good luck!

You might have to. Sounds like you really messed your hair up. Go to a hair salon and ask them what your best option would be.

Hmm, a giving a good wash maybe? there are shampoos which remove the buildup inhair, which makes it more brittle.

A lot of people have good results by using pure olive oil on their hair, which helps the dryness.

And dont use any more products till your hair gets better, or more normal.

There is also a good product which made my hair grow, but whether it will work on you I cant say- but its definitely worth a shot- its an oil used by geishas and grew my hair a few inches in a months time, I mean I can notice its not normal growth.

You can check it out here- its a heallth site, so this was way at the bottom when I looked.

It doesnt have a lot of hype and the only reason I got it was because I was already using their products.

good luck
